French Pyrenees
Andorra in the Mediterranean, the Eastern Pyrenees (the Pyrenees the Mediterranean or the Pyrenees Roussillon) cover the quarter of the chain of which they constitute the sector more opened out, bordered in north by the buttresses limestones of Fenouillèdes and Corbières, in the south by the Spanish sierras. The Pyrenees are characterized by a relief with the blunted shapes consisted of solid masses important separated by trough faults. But they owe especially their individuality with the climate: they are the Mediterranean Pyrenees or the Pyrenees of the sun.
The Pyrenees Catalanes preserve the traces of this long geological history. The sunning is particularly exceptional: solar furnace installation of with Mount-Louis, Odeillo and of a solar power station with Targasonne not being due randomly. The valley of Eyne is famous for the richness and the variety of its flora.
